8 miles

Aslockton, Whatton and Orston. Meet on the slip road to Aslockton (SK 736 395) Leader Geoff R. (Tel. 01636 708 049) substituting for Diana M. Take a picnic unless you prefer the optional brunch at Orston. Walk on the edge of Belvoir with village and country views. Optional brunch at Dovecote Cafe - inexpensive hot sandwiches and drinks.

West Leake and Kingston. Meet at the lay-by on Milton Lane outside West Leake (SK 522 262). Take a picnic Leader Mary H. (Tel 01509 853 246). A flat walk via the River Soar across the Soar Valley.

7½ miles

Longcliff Hill. Meet at Longcliff, Old Dalby. (SK 675 239) Leader Paul W. (Tel. 982 1022). Take a picnic. Walk via Longcliff Hill, Folly Hall, Hickling Standard, Upper Broughton and back to Old Dalby.

Nov.18th

9 miles

Gamston to Cotgrave. Meet at the small car park on Tollerton Road by Grantham Canal (SK 608 368). Leader Kevin W. (Tel. 984 7585). Take a picnic. Via Grantham Canal to Cotgrave, then on to Cotgrave Forest. Return via Clipston and field paths to car park. Walk can be shortened by missing Cotgrave Forest. Note - parking space very limited - please share cars!

Barrow-upon-Soar. Meet at Willow Road, Barrow. Take B675, right at first Barrow roundabout into Willow Road (SK 579 181). Take a picnic. Leader Doug T. (Tel. 981 8341). A circular walk including Seagrave, Sileby and Mountsorrel. Expect a little mud.

Keyworth, Plumtree and Clipston. Meet at Keyworth Village Hall car park, off Selby Lane (SK 614 308). Leader Alan W. (Tel. 953 7652). Take a picnic. North past Plumtree and Normanton-on-the-Wolds, via roads and paths to Clipston. Heading down to Cotgrave Forest before returning to Keyworth.

Hose. Meet near church on Bolton Lane, Hose (SK 736 293) Leader David Brown (Tel. 01509 852 629). Take a picnic. From Hose to the Harby Hills via Long Clawson. One steady climb and descent that can be avoided. Likely to be muddy in places. Note - car parking space very limited - please share cars!

Dale Abbey & Stanton-by-Dale . Meet at the lay-by on Potato Pit Lane in Dale Abbey (SK 444 385). Leader Joan H. (Tel. 973 4664). Take a picnic. Circular walk along fields and paths with good views.

Bramcote. Meet at Bramcote Park car park (SK 501 384). Leader Belinda H (Tel.984 3979). Take a picnic. Easy walking over fields and by a canal.

Gunthorpe, Hoveringham & Caythorpe. Meet at Gunthorpe Lock car park (SK 687 438). Leader Peter D. (Tel. 956 2867).Take a picnic - possible pub stop at Hoveringham. A flat walk with very few stiles, by the river for 2½ miles. Lunch on Hoveringham cricket field or pub if open. Across fields via Caythorpe back to Gunthorpe.

Grantham Canal, Woolsthorpe & Barrowby . Meet at Denton Bridge car park, just off Casthorpe Road, between Sedgebrook and Denton (SK 866 343). Leader Bernard R (Tel. 937 4486). Take a picnic. Along the Grantham Canal, then climbing up to Barrowby-on-the-Hill, with wonderful views over the Vale of Belvoir.

Collingham. Meet at the Medical Centre car park, off High St. Collingham (SK 831 617) Leader Geoff R. (Tel. 01636 708 049). Take a picnic. An opportunity to discover many of Collingham's delightful ginnels, a section of the River Trent's towpath and the Besthorpe Nature Reserve.

Morley. Meet at the lay-by on A608 at Morley Smithy, besides Cloves Wood (SK 398 424). Leader Kate C. (Tel. 974 3760). Take a picnic. Through undulating countryside with excellent views towards Belper and the foothills of the Derbyshire Dales.
