Apr. 6th

8 miles

Sherwood Forest Country Park. Meet at car park opposite Edwinstowe Youth Hostel and Craft Centre. (SK 624 672) Take a picnic.Leader Kevin P. (Tel. 0779 166 3507) The walk is over forest trails and paths around Sherwood Forest Country Park, taking in the Thynghow Trail. Easy walking with no stiles.

Teversal and Brierley Forest Park. Meet at Teversal Visitor Centre. (SK 479 614).  From A60 north take B6014 to Skegby for 3 miles. Visitor Centre signed to right (before the bridge). Take a picnic. Leader Derek M. (Tel. 0115 926 4023) A short walk on the footpaths around Brierley Forest Park.

Rempstone, Cotes & Stamford-on-Soar.  Meet in Rempstone (street parking) at (SK 578 243). Take a picnic. Leader George S.  (Tel. 0115 933 4407). Field paths and road walking south-west of Rempstone.

7.5 miles

Sutton Bonington & Kingston-on-Soar. Meet in the car park beside the Star Inn, West Leake (SK 524 261). Take a picnic. Leader Kevin W. (Tel. 0115 984 7585). Field path walking taking in St Ann's Manor, the River Soar and skirting Kingston Hall. Mostly flat with many stiles. Can be muddy in places. Parking is by the landlord's permission. It would be nice if we could patronize the pub after the walk.

Epperstone - followed by the AGM. Meet at Epperstone village hall car park, Gonalston Lane. (SK 655 482). Bring a plated shared lunch. Leader Alan W. (Tel. 0115 953 7652). A short walk on the footpaths around Epperstone, followed by the AGM about 2.00 pm.

Tuxford and the Markhams. Meet at Newark Road car park, next to the Sun Inn, Tuxford (SK 737 709). Take a picnic. Leader Geoff R. (Tel. 01636 708 049). An interesting and easy walk with few stiles on good paths and tracks

Kirklington, Bilsthorpe & Farnsfield. Meet at the picnic area on the Southwell Trail, off minor road south of Osmanthorpe Manor (SK 676 566) Take a picnic. Leader Derek S. (Tel. 0115 933 4482)  Walk starts on the Robin Hood Way, then via woods and fields to Bilsthorpe where we join the Southwell Trail for the final leg of the walk.

Hoveringham & Hazelford. Meet at the Trent side Hoveringham car park opposite Ferry Farm Park (SK 702 462) Take a picnic.  Leader Peter D. (Tel. 0115 956 2867) A flat walk with very few stiles along the River Trent, then back over the fields.

Buckminster, Sproxton & Saltby. Meet at Buckminster village green (SK 879 230). Take a picnic. Leader Paul W. (Tel. 01949 844 019). On tracks and paths around Buckminster, Sproxton and Saltby.

Keyworth to Costock - a linear walk. Meet in the lay-by just north of Costock cross roads at 10.15 am (SK 577 265). Leader David B. (Tel. 01509 852 629). Take a picnic. Note the earlier time to catch the 10.32 bus to Keyworth. Field path walking from Keyworth over the South Notts Wolds to Wysall and on to Costock.

Holmewood, Stainsby Water Mill & Heath. A6175 (Junc. 29 off M1) to Holmewood. Meet in the car park (not obvious) in Colliery Lane, opposite St Alban's Parish Centre, Holmewood (SK 433 658). Take a picnic. Leader Barbara S. (Tel. 0115 927 8428) Moderate walking, passing Hardwick Hall, Stainsby Water Mill and the village of Heath.

Hickling Standard. Meet in Pinfold Lane, off Main St. Kinoulton (SK 677 308). Leader Paul W. (Tel. 0115 982 1022) Take a picnic. Paths and field tracks south of Kinoulton, via Blacks Farm, Lincoln Lodge Farm, Bridgate Lane, Hickling Standard, Mill Lane and Kinoulton.

Bunny Woods. Meet in Church St, Bunny. (SK 582 296). Leader Kate C. (Tel. 0115 974 3760) Take a picnic. A delightful short walk through the Woods alongside Fairham Brook with excellent views over the Trent Valley. This walk is in the Notts Guided Walks Programme.
